The Managing Director
The year was 1999. The place was Phil’s spare bedroom*. It was here that Phil set up The Grocery Company, and he’s since taken the business to great places. He has a wealth of experience with brands such as Fosters, Carlsberg, Patak’s and Phileas Fogg and provides endless energy to the team. Phil enjoys talking, cycling and the odd glass (or two) of red wine. Although not all at the same time.

Sarah
Girl Friday
Part of the team since almost day one Sarah keeps out of mischief by ordering stock, looking after customer service and guarding the technical information. On quiet days she also keeps a beady eye on our Cranks restaurant in Devon. Sarah enjoys the challenges of being a mum, keeping hens and finding the perfect G&T. Sarah does not enjoy rain.

Chris, Simon and Mike
The Sales Team
The perfect good cop, good cop, good cop combination. Chris, Simon and Mike are a phenomenal team and worth their weight in gold when it comes to racking up those numbers. Chris enjoys ball sports and is happier on the pitch than watching; a cold beer rounds off his day nicely. Simon likes people watching, holidays in the sun and a cold beer; Mike's a big golf fan, and is also, believe it or not, partial to a cold beer.

David, Karin and Tony
The Finance Team
Our Tremendous Trio, armed only with calculators, look after the company's cash, stock and anything involving numbers. They also take pride in making sure our products make it onto the supermarket shelves once the Sales and Marketing teams have done their jobs. David loves playing golf, but he's got a long way to go before he's up to Tiger's standards. Karin is currently fulfilling a life-long ambition – horse riding - and aiming for Olympic Gold in 2012 (that's once David has won the British Open and bought her a horse with the winnings). Although Tony joined us to work with numbers he's so good at golf that his real challenge has become helping Dave improve his swing. He doesn't drink much tea and hasn’t got the same passion for cake as the rest of the team but we think he fits in perfectly nonetheless!

Ben and Charlotte
The Marketing Team
Ben and Charlotte are the Batman and Robin of the company (or should that be Robyn?). Whilst you’re unlikely to find them fighting crime in latex suits, you are likely to find them developing and promoting over 100 of our products with huge success. Their super powers include an incredible eye for detail, the ability to spot a cracking idea and the strength to get things done. Ben likes playing football with his son; Charlotte likes cycling with her husband. Ben likes a beer or two; Charlotte goes for a crisp, white wine. Ben is bulletproof; Charlotte can fly. Yes. We made that bit up.
